Limited graphics are pushed aside by good plot

Although the movie's "graphics" were just a few images, I wasn't horribly displeased with the effect. It was a nicely drawn character, and some of the writing was enough to make the movie entertaining. Certainly no masterpiece, but still a fun experience nonetheless.

BalefulProductions responds:

Yeah, basically I'm a poor flash drawer. I get what you mean.

Good point.

Funny, lighthearted

Atlhough in no way extremely funny, this was a nice little entertaining few minutes. Nice job.

Btw, why is Luigi Jewish?

porkman385 responds:

Because im jewish and luigi is awesome! :P

Nice job

Brilliant graphics enrich an epic and thought-provoking story.

Happy clock day!

NinoGrounds responds:

Thanks!

HAPPY Clock Day!!

Nice artwork, decent little story

I'm curious though, on the illustrations, is the watercolor appearence done manually, or with some sort of photoshop.

Are the illustrations of vector or raster?

StrangeClock responds:

The illustrations are vector, they're overlayed with a light texture I made myself by filling a piece of paper with a black marker and scanning it. Happy Clock Day!

Just really well done

It had alot of polish, a nice little story.

One thing though, the preloader should have a bar and not just say loading, it really makes the wait more bearable for the viewer. Maybe you should also diplay percent completion.

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Hahah... i knew i would get some sort of comment on that...

Oh, well... Don't you just love a bit of suspense?

I guess i COULD add a percent bar, instead of just the animation of a chicken squeezing an egg out of its texan hole...

Thanks for watching!

Nice in some ways

This is really helpful to those who don't understand the flash authoring enviroment, but I think you choosing to focus on actually making a button was a poor choice. The fact is, all you're teaching is where to find everything, not what anything means, or why anything is being done. This has nice gfx, but its a tad bit slow. I can't give it above an eight because it simply isn't comprehensive or deep enough to explain alot. But for what it is, you do an above average job, which is an eight. But overally I felt it was above average.

cranberryclock2 responds:

Thank you i plan to make my next video tut faster a bit :)

Never seen anything with such a speed feeling.

This is really great. The animation is near flawless, and the style is great. The movie really delivers a sense of speed which I have never seen done as well as this on Newgrounds. The sense of chaos in an air battle is very powerful, and the movie is very effective. In terms of coveying mood and suspense, this is one of the best movies on Newgrounds.
The voice acting was mixed, it was good that you had it, and sometimes it really helped to add to the realism and intensity, but
the overuse of profanity sort of made the whole thing more cartoony and gave it a sort of cheep feeling. But that in no way denies the high quality of this movie!

LogFish responds:

I'm feeling worse and worse about swearing heh. Thanks for your comments, they're taken on board.

This is good, really good

I gotta say, the graphics aren't so much stunning, but rather produce an effective medium for conveying ideas, which is better than most of Newgrounds. The movie was pretty funny, and I appreciate that you spent the time to make great voiceovers. The movie was good, very good. But this wasn't good enough to be a classic little an Adam Philps work, but keep on trying, you have the skill and experience!

Ranoka responds:

Wow, I've been compared to Adam Phillips on my first Flash on NG! I gotta point that out to him some time, hehe (I'm a MotM at his forum). Thanks for the kind words on the graphics and sound. See you next time!

Quite good

The actionscript section focused primarily on light applied scripting, which is fine, but I feel there are other movies that do it better than this one. The creative lines part was very nice, I very much enjoy the style, although I have never used it. The soundboard part was probably what won me over, as there are few other tutorials as good as this for soundboards as this one. This is a good, well rounded, above average tutorial. I would enjoy it if you were to produce another.

FoyvenMaven responds:

Why thank you.

I just decided to, not too heavily, sum up a fraction of my flash knowledge and share it with the world. =p
