Limited graphics are pushed aside by good plot

Although the movie's "graphics" were just a few images, I wasn't horribly displeased with the effect. It was a nicely drawn character, and some of the writing was enough to make the movie entertaining. Certainly no masterpiece, but still a fun experience nonetheless.

BalefulProductions responds:

Yeah, basically I'm a poor flash drawer. I get what you mean.

Good point.

Funny, lighthearted

Atlhough in no way extremely funny, this was a nice little entertaining few minutes. Nice job.

Btw, why is Luigi Jewish?

porkman385 responds:

Because im jewish and luigi is awesome! :P

Nice

Stylish preloader, has a few funny moments, and has some good timing. "They've been trained to kill" and "Their numbers are growing" moments are real highlights of the movie.

I fealt the ending though was a little dull, and I don't think you really capitalised on Samuel L. Jackson for humor, but overall it was a good movie.

Nice parody.

Nice job

Brilliant graphics enrich an epic and thought-provoking story.

Happy clock day!

NinoGrounds responds:

Thanks!

HAPPY Clock Day!!

Nice artwork, decent little story

I'm curious though, on the illustrations, is the watercolor appearence done manually, or with some sort of photoshop.

Are the illustrations of vector or raster?

StrangeClock responds:

The illustrations are vector, they're overlayed with a light texture I made myself by filling a piece of paper with a black marker and scanning it. Happy Clock Day!

Really good, needs sound though

I'm curious, was this 3DS max, maya, Swift, or what...

If you're using Swift 3D, you should try to export as a vector, so then you can make a smaller file-size, which should allow you to have music, decrease loading time, and avoid lossy compression artifcats on your raster.

If you're using 3DS max or Maya, I think Electric Rain sells a plug-in to let you export vectors. I might be wrong though.

Honestly, you have a lot of potential here, but Newgrounds is simply built for vectors, not rasters. So if you could turn all your rasters into vectors, you could make this a lot better.

Also, this needs sound, its very integral to the animation being effective.

As for your robot animation, it was very nice, but it seems that your raster compression techniques were lossy, which gives your movie an amateurish feel.

Brilliant

From what I saw, this movie was about eugenics, and about the pursuit to produce perfection in human society. And how ultimatly the strongest push from the eugenicists produced the most flawed human beings, and how pushing people to their limits is counter-productive. Its a critique of competition and the struggle to succeed. Green in the embryo and on the machine's screen was a metaphor for the pressure on children from authority figures.

You also make an interesting commentary that fathers offer more conditional love than mothers. While this is a decent element, its far from original. Also the emotions of the father are not potrayed flawlessly.

This movie also brings in interesting characters. (Well, actually just the mother). Her story is provokative. She begins with idealism of perfection and a simple desire to belong, but struggle and death shows her to love the weakest of creatures. She truly matures from youth to motherhood in a masterful way.

More characters would be a good improvement.

I really loved this animation, its interesting and far from run-of-the-mill. Not perfect, but still very good.

Just really well done

It had alot of polish, a nice little story.

One thing though, the preloader should have a bar and not just say loading, it really makes the wait more bearable for the viewer. Maybe you should also diplay percent completion.

stoners-lunchbox responds:

Hahah... i knew i would get some sort of comment on that...

Oh, well... Don't you just love a bit of suspense?

I guess i COULD add a percent bar, instead of just the animation of a chicken squeezing an egg out of its texan hole...

Thanks for watching!

Bad Plot, but beutiful graphics

This movie had very bad dialogue. All of it felt poorly written and voice actor was miscasted. In fact, in many ways the bad plot makes this close to unwatchable. In general I'd say this plot is as bad as that of Star Wars.

However the graphics are some of the best I've ever seen, so its possible to just try to look at the graphics and not get distracted by the bad plot.

Electrical Engineering student. Life is pretty good, but boring.
